HITSEEE 2027 Registration Opens Today: Apply by 21 April for BTech, BArch and BDes at HITS Chennai

Follow us on Google

HITSEEE 2027 registration opens today, 4 November 2026, for students who want to study BTech, BArch or BDes at the Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) in Chennai. The window stays open for nearly six months. Apply by 21 April 2027, take the exam between 28 April and 3 May 2027, and attend counselling from 12 to 19 May 2027. Classes begin in July 2027.

HITSEEE is the university’s own entrance exam. It is the route into its undergraduate engineering, architecture and design programmes for the 2027-28 academic year. See the latest admissions updates for other 2027 entrance exams as their dates are announced. Students apply online on the HITS admission portal, and the exam itself is held online.

21 April is the last date, and the exam follows a week later

The full schedule gives students a clear run-up. Registration opened on 4 November 2026 and closes on 21 April 2027. The entrance exam runs from 28 April to 3 May 2027. Counselling follows from 12 to 19 May 2027, with classes starting in July 2027.

That long window helps, but board exams and other entrance tests crowd the same months. Filling the form early leaves room to fix a wrong photo, a spelling mistake or a failed payment.

“Apply early, check every detail before you submit, and keep a copy of the confirmation page. A small error in the form can cost a seat later.”

Who can apply for BTech, BArch and BDes

Eligibility is different for each programme. For BTech, students need an average of at least 60 percent in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class 12 or an equivalent exam. BTech Biotechnology accepts the same average in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology.

BArch has a different bar. Applicants must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, scored at least 50 percent in total, and hold a valid NATA or JEE Main Paper 2 score.

BDes is open to a wider group. Students need an average of at least 60 percent in Class 12, and students from Science, Commerce, Arts or other recognised streams can apply. There is also an age rule for all programmes: applicants must be at least 16 years and six months old as of 31 July of the year in which their Class 12 board exam is held.

Indian students living in India apply through the regular form. Foreign and NRI applicants have a separate application form on the same portal.

What you can study through HITSEEE

HITS runs four-year BTech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.

Architecture is a five-year BArch programme. Design is a four-year BDes programme with options such as Gaming Design, Fashion and Apparel Design, and Communication Design.

Students also tracking JEE Main 2027 registration or NIFT 2027 registration should note those exams run on separate schedules.

How to apply for HITSEEE 2027 in 7 steps

Follow these steps on the official portal:

  • Open the HITS admission portal for HITSEEE.
  • Register with your name, email ID and mobile number.
  • Log in with the details you just created.
  • Fill in personal, academic and contact details.
  • Select your preferred programme: BTech, BArch or BDes.
  • Upload your photograph and signature in the format asked for.
  • Pay the fee online, review the whole form once, and submit it.

Save the confirmation page and take a printout. Confirm the fee amount and document format on the portal rather than trusting a figure from another website. You can apply on the official HITSEEE application portal.

What happens after the exam

After the exam window closes on 3 May 2027, shortlisted students move to counselling from 12 to 19 May 2027, where seats are allotted and admission is confirmed. Keep your admit card and Class 12 documents safe until counselling ends.

HITS has not yet published separate dates for admit cards or results, so watch the official HITS website for those announcements. Do not trust admit card links shared on social media groups. Use only the portal link above.

If you are still in Class 12, write down the three dates that matter: 21 April, 28 April to 3 May, and 12 to 19 May. Then check whether your marks meet the 60 percent rule for your course.
