October 1: MH CET 3-Year LLB Round 4 Merit List Today; 4 Dates You Must Note

The final round of Maharashtra law admissions reaches its last stage today. The State CET Cell is publishing the institute-level merit list for the MH CET 3-year LLB Round 4 on October 1, 2026, and admissions against that list will close within days. If you are waiting for a law college seat, this is the round that decides it.
The MH CET 3-year LLB merit list for the institute-level round is the closing act of the 2026-27 college admissions cycle for three-year law programmes in Maharashtra. Here are the facts, the dates, and the steps to take.
Round 4 is the last chance to get a law seat this year
The institute-level round is the fourth and final round of MH CET LLB counselling for the academic year 2026-27. Unlike the centralised rounds, this round is handled by the individual law colleges themselves. They admit students from the merit list generated by the CET Cell, filling the seats that are still vacant.
Round 3 of the centralised process had announced its seat allotment on September 20, and allotted candidates reported to their colleges between September 21 and 24. For everyone who still does not have a seat, the institute-level merit list published today is the final admission route.
If you filled fresh college choices during the registration window, your name will appear in the merit list generated today. Check your college’s notice board and website.
The 4 dates you must note down
The counselling schedule leaves no room for delay:
- October 1, 2026 — Colleges generate the online institute-level merit list through the CAP portal, and display it on the college notice board and website.
- October 3 to 6, 2026 — Candidates seek admission as per the declared merit list, and colleges confirm admissions through the college login.
- October 7, 2026 — Cut-off date for admission. No admission after this.
Registration and application editing for this round ran from September 27 to September 29, with fresh college choices submitted against the vacant seats displayed on September 26. Those windows have now closed, so today is about the merit list and what comes after it.
Who could take part in the institute-level round
The CET Cell kept the door open for three kinds of candidates. New registrations were allowed for anyone with a non-zero score in the MH CET LLB 2026 exam. Candidates who had registered in earlier rounds but never received a seat could join too. And students who were admitted earlier but cancelled their seat through the college login were also eligible.
Candidates who are already holding a seat from an earlier round cannot take part. Also note that choices submitted in the earlier CAP rounds were not considered for this round at all. Everyone had to submit fresh preferences, with a minimum of two college choices and no maximum limit.
What happens after the merit list comes out
Once the list is published, the action shifts to the colleges. Each participating law college admits candidates based on the CET Cell’s generated merit list, taking into account vacant seats, eligibility, category, and candidature type. The colleges verify the documents you submitted during the application process, so make sure everything you uploaded is accurate.
Check the merit list on the official CET Cell portal and on your college’s own website or notice board today. If your name is on it, report to the college within the October 3 to 6 window with your documents. Waiting until the last day is risky, since October 7 is a hard cut-off for all admissions.
Documents to keep ready for admission
Admission counters move fast during the last round, and missing papers can cost you the seat. Keep your MH CET LLB scorecard, Class 10 and 12 marksheets, graduation marksheet, caste or category certificate if applicable, and a government photo ID ready. Our college admission documents checklist covers the full list most Indian colleges ask for, so go through it before you leave home.
Students who came through other counselling processes this year, such as the NEET UG Round 3 seat allotment, will recognise the pattern. The merit list comes out, the college verifies your documents, you pay the fee, and the seat is yours.
