UCEED 2027: Today, 5 Nov, is the last day to apply without a ₹500 late fee

Follow us on Google

If you want a BDes seat through UCEED 2027, today is the day to finish your form. IIT Bombay closes the regular-fee registration window tonight, 5 November 2026, at 11:59 PM. After that, you can still apply, but every Indian applicant pays ₹500 extra.

Missing tonight does not end your chance. Late registration stays open till 10 November 2026 at 5 PM, and IIT Bombay has said clearly that this is the final extension.

Tonight at 11:59 PM, the regular-fee window closes

The dates you see today are revised dates. IIT Bombay first set the regular deadline at 31 October, then moved it to 5 November, and the late-fee deadline moved from 6 November to 10 November. The institute announced the revised schedule on 31 October.

That history matters. Students who waited for the first extension already used it up, and the institute has now ruled out a second one, so planning around another date change is a gamble. If your documents are ready, tonight is the sensible time to submit.

What the late fee actually costs you

For Indian candidates, the regular fee is ₹2,000 for female candidates and for SC, ST and PwD candidates, and ₹4,000 for everyone else. Anyone who registers after tonight adds ₹500, and foreign nationals pay separate fees with a US$50 late fee on top.

₹500 is not huge next to a year of preparation, but it is money you do not need to spend. Finish early in the day, while banks and help desks are still reachable.

Apply by 11:59 PM tonight and you pay the normal fee. Wait till tomorrow and every Indian applicant pays ₹500 extra.

Where a UCEED score can take you

UCEED is the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design, and the route to Bachelor of Design (BDes) programmes at the participating institutes: IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore and IIT Roorkee, along with IIITDM Jabalpur.

Design seats through this exam are few compared with engineering seats. Your score decides your place in the seat allotment after the result, so check each institute’s seat and eligibility details in the brochure before you pick preferences.

Students looking at other design entrances can also check the HITSEEE 2027 registration for BTech, BArch and BDes at HITS Chennai. If engineering is also on your list, read the JEE Main 2027 registration advisory on DigiLocker and document matching before you fill that form.

Who can apply for UCEED 2027

You can apply if you passed Class 12 in 2026, or if you are appearing for your Class 12 exams in 2027. Science, Commerce and Arts or Humanities students are all eligible, subject to the age, qualifying exam and other conditions in the official brochure.

  • Upload your photograph, signature and other documents in the format asked for.
  • Pay the registration fee online.
  • Review every detail once, submit the form, and download the confirmation page.

Dates to keep on your phone

The dates that matter:

  • Regular registration closes: 5 November 2026, 11:59 PM
  • Late registration closes: 10 November 2026, 5 PM
  • Admit card release: 1 January 2027, 1 PM
  • UCEED 2027 exam: 17 January 2027, 9 AM to 12 noon
  • Result declaration: 6 March 2027

Do not wait for another extension

Every year, some students lose a whole attempt to a last-day payment failure. A card that declines, a photo in the wrong size, or a server that slows down at 11 PM can push you into the late window or past it. IIT Bombay has already extended this window once and ruled out a second extension.

If you are still unsure about eligibility, settle it on the official UCEED 2027 website today. The brochure, not a social media post, is the final word on who can apply.
