October 28 Deadline: XAT 2027's Last Official Mock Test Runs Oct 31-Nov 1

If you are preparing for XAT 2027, you have one last official practice run left. XLRI Jamshedpur has announced that the final official mock test for XAT 2027 will be held over a 48-hour window on October 31 and November 1, 2026. To take it, your XAT 2027 registration must be complete by October 28, 2026. Miss that date, and you sit this one out.

This is the third and final official mock test from XLRI. The earlier two were held on August 30 and from September 30 to October 1. Each mock ran on the actual XAT exam platform, so it is the closest thing to the real paper you will get before January.

Why this mock test matters more than the usual practice paper

Most mock tests you buy online only try to copy the paper. This one runs on the same computer interface XLRI will use for XAT 2027 on January 3. You get a feel for the screen layout, the navigation, and the built-in calculator before exam day. After the test, you also get a score with comparative rank analysis, which tells you where you stand against other test-takers, not just how many you got right.

For students who are still unsure about their weak areas, this mock is a good checkpoint. There are still over two months left before the exam, which is enough time to fix gaps the mock exposes.

Who can take it, and the October 28 cut-off

The rule is simple. Only candidates who have completed their XAT 2027 registration and paid the fee by October 28, 2026, can take this mock test. Registration for XAT 2027 as a whole stays open till December 6, 2026, so the October 28 date is only the cut-off for mock test eligibility.

XLRI usually shares the mock test link with eligible candidates through email and WhatsApp, and the link is also enabled on the candidate dashboard. You can start the test any time within the 48-hour window. If you register after October 28, you can still appear for XAT 2027, but you will have missed the last official mock.

Register for XAT 2027 by October 28 to become eligible for the last official mock test on October 31 and November 1.

How to register before the cut-off

  1. Go to xatonline.in, the official XAT 2027 website, and open the registration link.
  2. Sign up with your name, email ID, mobile number, and date of birth, and verify with the OTP sent to you.
  3. Log in and fill in your personal, academic, and work experience details.
  4. Pick up to six preferred test cities for your exam centre.
  5. Upload your photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
  6. Pay the Rs 2,300 fee online. Add Rs 200 for each XLRI programme you select.

A quick word of caution: servers crawl on the last days of any big exam registration. Do not leave your form half-filled on October 27. Fill it, pay, and download the confirmation page well before the cut-off.

Like other big admissions this season, early registration also helps you get a preferred test city. Seats are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis, and students chasing other entrance exams face the same rush. If you are also tracking the CLAT 2027 registration deadline of October 31, you already know how fast the final days go.

What the real XAT 2027 paper will look like

XAT 2027 will be held on January 3, 2027, from 2 pm to 5 pm in a single session. It is a computer-based test with 95 questions and no sectional time limits, so you can move between sections in any order you like.

The paper has four sections. Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning has 26 questions, Decision Making has 21, and Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation has 28. These three sections together get 170 minutes. The General Knowledge section has 20 questions and gets 10 minutes.

Every correct answer gets one mark. A wrong answer costs 0.25 marks. Leave more than eight questions unattempted in a row and you lose 0.10 marks for each extra question. The GK section has no negative marking.

Who can apply for XAT 2027

You need a bachelor’s degree of at least three years in any subject from a recognised university. Final-year students can apply too, as long as they finish their degree by the date XLRI specifies. There is no minimum percentage and no age limit for the exam itself, though individual B-schools that accept XAT scores may set their own conditions.

XAT 2027 scores are accepted by more than 250 B-schools across India, including XLRI Jamshedpur and the XAMI member institutes. The exam is held in over 100 cities, so check the list of centres on the official portal and pick cities you can actually reach on exam day. Students comparing entrance options can also look at how JEE Main 2027 session 1 registration is shaping up this month, since October is peak season for exam applications.

If you have already registered for XAT 2027, watch your email and WhatsApp for the mock test link after October 28. If you have not, do it now. This is the last free official rehearsal before the January 3 exam, and there is no second chance once it passes.
