4,000+ DU Students, 85 Companies: AVASAR 2026 Placement Drive on October 7

Delhi University will host the second edition of its placement and internship drive, AVASAR 2026, on October 7. More than 85 organisations are expected to take part, and over 4,000 students have already registered for the event.

The DU placement drive is being organised by the university’s Central Placement Cell (CPC), which works under the Office of the Dean of Students’ Welfare. The event will run from 9 am to 5 pm at the Multipurpose Hall, Gate No. 2, G C Narang Marg, North Campus.

What students will get at AVASAR 2026

The drive covers both jobs and internships. Students will be able to meet recruiters from sectors as different as education, finance, technology, publishing, and social work.

According to the university, the highest annual salary package on offer goes above Rs 10 lakh. The top internship stipend on offer reaches Rs 60,000 per month. These are the headline numbers, and actual offers will depend on the role, the recruiter, and the student’s profile.

Some of the organisations expected at the drive include SPRIX Japan, Teach for India, Kotak Life, PPG Foundation, Surasa, Dear Sir E-Learning, Cambridge School, Bharti Bhawan, Muthoot Finance, Verdicto, Connect Jobs, and Intellexia Tech, among others.

Open to every DU student, not just a few colleges

One detail matters more than the numbers. The drive is open to all Delhi University students, not only those from colleges with strong placement cells of their own.

That is the whole point of AVASAR. Earlier known as the “Job Mela”, the drive is the university’s attempt to bring employers to one place so that students from every DU college can meet them in a single day. The CPC says the initiative is meant to deepen the university’s ties with employers and give more students direct access to job and internship openings.

“AVASAR aims to connect students with prospective employers and give them access to employment and internship opportunities across sectors.”

The day will also give students a chance to speak with recruiters face to face, ask about roles, and understand which careers fit their subjects and skills. For first-time job seekers, that kind of direct interaction is often as useful as the interview itself.

How to make the most of the day

Students planning to attend should prepare before October 7. Carry multiple printed copies of your resume, since most recruiters at a drive collect hard copies. Keep a government ID or your college ID card with you.

Read the company list before you go. Walk in knowing which recruiters interest you and what roles they usually hire for. Dress simply and formally. And reach early, because popular stalls develop long queues by mid-morning.

The university has not announced a detailed registration process for students in its latest statement. Students should keep an eye on Delhi University’s official website and their college notice boards for any registration link or entry instructions that come out before the event.

Why a central drive matters for DU students

Delhi University has close to 90 affiliated colleges, and their placement activity is uneven. Some colleges run active placement cells with regular recruiter visits. Many others manage only a handful of drives in a year.

A central drive like AVASAR tries to close that gap. When the university itself brings 85-plus organisations to North Campus, a student from any college gets the same shot as one from a big-name college. That is also why the CUET-based admission process that brings lakhs of students into DU each year ends up raising expectations: students want the university to open doors beyond the classroom, and drives like this are one answer.

The CPC has been running such centralised efforts for a while now, and the second edition of AVASAR shows the model is sticking. For students, the takeaway is simple. October 7 is a real opportunity, but only for those who show up prepared.
