November 30 Deadline: IGNOU Launches OPMS Portal for Online Project Submission

Follow us on Google

If you are an IGNOU student with a project, dissertation, internship or fieldwork report due for the December 2026 term-end exam, listen up. IGNOU has opened a new online portal for these submissions, and the last date is November 30, 2026.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University has launched what it calls the Online Project Management System, or OPMS. It is a single digital window where learners can upload their project reports and other prescribed reports instead of running between offices with hard copies.

What the OPMS portal does

Till now, many IGNOU learners submitted physical copies of their reports to their Regional Centre or to the Student Evaluation Division in New Delhi. That often meant printouts, binding, courier charges and long waits for confirmation.

The OPMS portal changes this. Eligible students in IGNOU’s Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online programmes can now upload their documents directly through the official portal. The university says online submission is mandatory for all eligible learners for the December 2026 TEE cycle.

Reports covered include project reports, dissertations, internship work, fieldwork reports and practicum assignments. Every submission is tracked in one place, so files no longer go missing in transit.

November 30, 2026: the date that matters

IGNOU has fixed November 30, 2026 as the final date for submitting project and dissertation reports online. University officials have asked learners to finish their uploads well before this deadline.

The warning is practical. IGNOU’s portals slow down in the final days of any deadline, and a failed upload at 11 pm on the last day leaves no room to fix it. Students who depend on a guide’s signature or a certificate of originality should line those up first, then upload.

A small but important detail: learners who have already submitted physical hard copies of their reports to their Regional Centre or to the SED headquarters in New Delhi do not need to upload them again on OPMS. If your hard copy is in, you are done.

How to submit on the OPMS portal

You do not need a new login. The portal works with your existing IGNOU Samarth account. Here is the full sequence:

  • Visit the official IGNOU Samarth portal and sign in with your student account.
  • Open the OPMS facility from your dashboard and read the upload instructions carefully.
  • Check your document against the university’s formatting guidelines. Reports that do not follow the format can be rejected.
  • Upload the complete report as a soft copy and note down the submission reference or receipt for your records.

Keep a copy of whatever confirmation the portal gives you. IGNOU’s own guidance is to keep the receipt safe, because it is your proof of submission if anything goes wrong later.

Who must use the portal, and who can skip it

The OPMS facility is for learners in IGNOU’s ODL and online programmes who have a prescribed report due for the December 2026 term-end exam — from management and education to computer applications and social sciences.

Every learner should double check one thing before uploading: the report must follow the university’s formatting and content guidelines. Common reasons for rejection include missing certificates, wrong file formats and unsigned pages.

Students who already submitted a hard copy of their project to a Regional Centre or the Delhi headquarters do not need to upload it again — one submission is enough.

A few things to get right before you click upload

Distance learners on IGNOU’s education news circuit know the routine: deadlines arrive faster than expected. Start the upload early in the day, when the portal is usually faster, and avoid the final weekend rush.

Make sure the project fee has been paid through your Samarth account before you submit. The university’s notice sets the same November 30, 2026 date for the project fee, and a report without the fee is not taken up for evaluation.

Your results for the December TEE will still come out on IGNOU’s regular result portals after evaluation, and the exam itself begins in late November. Check the official IGNOU website for date sheets and exam form notices so nothing falls through the cracks.
