CA Foundation Result Likely on November 6 Evening: ICAI Announces Date

The wait for CA aspirants is nearly over. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced that the CA Foundation September 2026 result is likely to be declared by the evening of Friday, November 6, 2026. Students who sat for the exam in September can check their scorecards on the official result portal, caresults.icai.org, once the link goes live. You will need two details to open your result: your registration number and your roll number.

ICAI issued the announcement on Sunday, November 1, through its Examination Department. The notice was signed by Anand Kumar Chaturvedi, Additional Secretary (Exams). It is the first firm date signal students have got since the exams ended, and it ends weeks of guesswork about when the scores would come out.

November 6 is the expected date, not a fixed hour

Read the wording with care. ICAI has said the result is “likely” to be declared by the evening of November 6. That means November 6 evening is the expected window, not a promised hour. No exact time has been fixed yet. If the link does not appear in the morning, that is normal. Check again later in the day instead of trusting random links shared on social media.

The September session exams were held offline, in pen-and-paper mode, on September 2, 5, 7, and 9 at centres across India. CA Foundation is the entry-level exam for the chartered accountancy course in India.

Students who want the full list of declared scores and hall tickets can browse the results section on this site. The CA Intermediate September 2026 result from the same exam cycle was already declared on October 22, so Foundation students were the ones still waiting.

How to check your CA Foundation September 2026 result

Keep your registration number and roll number ready before November 6 evening. The portal gets heavy traffic the moment results open, and having your details at hand saves you repeated logins. Follow these steps:

Open the official result portal, caresults.icai.org
Look for the CA Foundation September 2026 result link on the homepage
Click the link and enter your registration number and roll number
Enter the captcha code shown on the screen, if asked
Click Submit and wait for your scorecard to load
Download the scorecard and save a clear copy for your records

Do not pay anyone for an early result, and do not trust a site that asks for money to show your score. The result is free, and it appears only on the official ICAI portal. If a page asks for your password or bank details, close it at once.

“It may be noted that for accessing the result at the above mentioned website, the candidate shall have to enter his/her Registration Number along with his/her Roll Number.”

That line comes straight from ICAI’s announcement, and it tells you all you need for login day. No other login detail is needed.

40 percent in each paper, 50 percent overall: the pass rule

Passing CA Foundation needs two things at once. You must score at least 40 percent in each paper, and your total across all papers must reach at least 50 percent. Clearing one paper with a high score does not cover a fail in another. Both bars have to be met in the same attempt.

Your scorecard will show your qualifying status along with your marks. Check your name, roll number, and paper-wise marks line by line when it opens. If any detail looks wrong, raise it with ICAI through its official exam help channels without delay. A small error caught early is far easier to fix than one found months later, when you need the scorecard for Intermediate registration.

ICAI will also publish the pass percentage, All India Ranks, and toppers list for the September 2026 session along with the results. Those numbers will show how tough this session was compared with past ones, but they do not change your own result. Your scorecard is the only document that counts for you.

What happens after you pass, and what if you fall short

Students who clear the Foundation exam become eligible to register for CA Intermediate, the second level of the chartered accountancy course. That registration opens the next stage of the journey, so keep your scorecard safe. You will need it when you apply.

If you do not clear this time, the next chance is not far away. ICAI has already announced the January 2027 Foundation exams for January 3, 5, 7, and 9, with mock test series starting December 1. Use the gap to work on the papers where you lost marks, and treat the mock tests as a real exam rehearsal. One failed attempt does not end a CA dream. Plenty of chartered accountants today cleared Foundation on a later attempt.

For now, the simple plan is this: keep November 6 evening marked, keep your registration number and roll number ready, and check only the official portal. The result link for the CA Foundation September 2026 result will appear on the official ICAI result portal when ICAI releases it.
