2.66 Lakh Students, One PDF: NEET PG 2026 Scorecard and Answer Key Out Today

The wait is over for more than 2.6 lakh medical graduates. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will start issuing individual NEET PG 2026 scorecards from today, October 1, on its official website natboard.edu.in, along with the first-ever published answer key for the exam. If you appeared for the postgraduate medical entrance test, your marks, rank, and qualifying status are now one login away.

Scorecard and answer key go live together on natboard.edu.in

NBEMS has confirmed that both the individual scorecard and the provisional answer key will be released on or after October 1, 2026. The answer key release is historic. Following Supreme Court directives, the board is publishing the question paper, question ID numbers, correct answer key IDs, the response IDs you marked, and the score given for each question for the very first time. Everything sits behind your individual applicant login.

The board has also asked candidates to act fast once the link goes live. Scorecards will stay available for download for only six months from the date of issue. Requests made after that window will be rejected, and the board does not send scorecards by post or email.

What your NEET PG 2026 scorecard contains

The scorecard is the single most important document for your admission now. It carries your marks out of 720, your All India Rank, your qualifying status, and your percentile. Counselling bodies will ask for it at registration, so keep a printed and digital copy ready.

The headline numbers from this year’s exam:

Topper score: 641 marks out of 720 (All India Rank 1)
General / EWS cut-off: 262 marks (50th percentile)
General PwBD cut-off: 244 marks (45th percentile)
SC / ST / OBC cut-off (including PwBD): 226 marks (40th percentile)
Candidates appeared: over 2.63 lakh on August 30, plus 2,416 in the September 5 re-exam at Jaipur held after a power failure disrupted centres

“For the first time, candidates will see exactly how each of their 200 responses was scored. The answer key window is your chance to check the board’s evaluation question by question.”

How to download the NEET PG 2026 scorecard

Go to the official NBEMS portal: natboard.edu.in
Open the NEET PG 2026 section on the homepage
Click the scorecard or answer key link once it appears
Log in with your user ID and password
Your scorecard, answer key, and response sheet will open on screen
Download the PDFs and save them. Remember the six-month availability rule

Use only the official board website. Fake portals and third-party “result links” crop up every year, and typing your login details anywhere else is asking for trouble.

What comes next: 58,000 seats and MCC counselling

The result is only step one. The National Medical Commission has issued the seat matrix for 2026-27, and the numbers are good news: total MD, MS, and diploma seats have risen to 58,000, up about 11 percent from 52,173 last year. Karnataka has the highest number of postgraduate medical seats.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will run counselling for 50 percent All India Quota seats, plus central universities, deemed universities, and ESIC institutes. The remaining 50 percent state quota seats go through each state’s own counselling portal. NBEMS has clarified that its result is not the final admission list; state-wise and category-wise merit lists will be prepared by the respective states and Union Territories.

Students tracking other medical counselling updates can also follow the NEET UG Round 3 seat allotment process, which runs on a parallel timeline this admission season. For more result alerts like this one, bookmark the results section.
