MBBS Seat at AIR 11,90,352: MCC's NEET UG 2026 Stray Vacancy Result Out

Follow us on Google

The Medical Counselling Committee has released the provisional result of the NEET UG 2026 stray vacancy round. Students who took part in this final round of NEET UG counselling 2026 can now check whether they have been allotted an MBBS, BDS or B.Sc. Nursing seat. The result is available as a downloadable PDF on the official MCC portal.

One number from this round stands out. An MBBS seat under the open category was allotted up to an All India Rank of 11,90,352. That was a self-financed merit seat at a deemed university. In government medical colleges, where fees are far lower, the last open-category seat went to AIR 28,515 (General category) at Sikkim Government Medical College. The gap between the two shows how this last round really worked: government seats closed early, and the remaining seats in private and deemed institutions went much deeper down the rank list.

4,068 seats on offer, 3,108 allotted

This round was held to fill the seats that stayed vacant after the first three rounds of counselling. MCC had listed 4,068 vacant seats across MBBS, BDS and B.Sc. Nursing for the stray vacancy round. Out of these, 3,108 seats were allotted, according to the published figures. That means over 900 seats still did not find a taker even in the final round of counselling.

The seat matrix released for this round had included 3,426 MBBS seats, 499 BDS seats and 143 B.Sc. Nursing seats. Government medical colleges, deemed universities, central universities, AIIMS institutes and ESIC colleges all took part. Since this was the last round of NEET UG 2026 counselling, any seat left unfilled now goes out of the central counselling process for this year.

Closing ranks: where the last MBBS and BDS seats went

Closing ranks tell the real story of this round. Here are the reported cut-offs for MBBS seats, by quota and category:

  • All India quota, government colleges: Open 28,515 | OBC 28,601 | EWS 31,430 | SC 1,27,165 | ST 1,44,533
  • AIIMS open seat quota: Open 11,579 | OBC 14,701 | EWS 6,071 | SC 93,436 | ST 1,29,719
  • Deemed university, self-financed merit: Open 11,90,352
  • Deemed university, NRI seat: Open 9,46,919

For BDS seats, the closing ranks were:

  • All India quota: Open 52,383 | OBC 53,293 | EWS 53,122 | SC 1,83,081 | ST 2,04,945
  • Deemed university, self-financed merit: Open 8,91,113
  • Deemed university, NRI seat: Open 9,39,925

A rank as low as 11,90,352 still earned an MBBS seat in this round. That single number explains why the stray vacancy round matters so much to students who missed out earlier.

What happens next: final result and reporting

The grievance window for this provisional result has already closed. Candidates who spotted a discrepancy could raise it through the Candidate Grievance and Query Redressal System on their login portal till 11:00 AM on October 20, 2026. MCC will now prepare the final allotment result based on the issues raised.

Once the final result is out, allotted candidates must report to their colleges for document verification and admission formalities. The counselling schedule keeps the reporting window open from October 19 to October 26, 2026. Carry original documents plus self-attested photocopies: your NEET UG 2026 admit card and scorecard, Class 10 and 12 marksheets, a valid ID proof, category certificate if applicable, and the final allotment letter once it is issued.

Students who did not get a seat should watch the MCC notices section for any further update. Several states also run their own stray vacancy rounds alongside the central process, and those may still have seats open. Keep checking the official portals of your state counselling body instead of trusting random forwards on WhatsApp.

If you missed this round entirely, the next exam cycle is where your focus should go. Medical aspirants can track other exam results and counselling updates on this page, and read how NEET PG 2026 candidates downloaded their scorecards this month for a sense of how these processes work.
