₹50,000 scholarship for women in STEM ends in 3 days: check if you qualify

You have 3 days left. The DXC Progressing Minds Scholarship 2026-27 pays Rs 50,000 to women and transgender students pursuing undergraduate courses in STEM fields, and its application window shuts on October 15, 2026. If you study B.Tech, B.Sc, BCA, or any other science, technology, engineering, or mathematics degree, this is one of the last scholarships still open this month.
DXC Technology runs this scholarship as part of its CSR programme. Buddy4Study manages the applications. There is no application fee, and selected students get the full amount as a one-time payment straight into their bank account.
What you get: Rs 50,000 in one payment
Selected scholars receive a fixed one-time scholarship of Rs 50,000. The money goes by Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the student’s bank account, so make sure your account details are correct when you fill the form.
You can spend it on anything related to your studies: tuition fees, hostel fees, mess charges, travel costs, books and stationery, a laptop or device, internet data, and even medical insurance.
Who can apply: five conditions
The scheme is meant for students who are serious about their studies but need financial support. You must meet all five of these conditions:
- You are a woman or transgender student pursuing an undergraduate course in a STEM-related field.
- You scored at least 60 percent marks (or an equivalent grade) in your previous semester or academic year.
- Your family’s total annual income from all sources is not more than Rs 4,00,000.
- You study at a college or institution anywhere in India.
- You are not the child of a DXC Technology or Buddy4Study employee.
Students with disabilities (PwD), orphans, students from single-parent homes, and students who have received a scholarship before get preference in the final selection. That does not mean others should skip applying. It only decides the order of priority when applications are shortlisted.
If you cleared 60 percent last semester and your family earns under Rs 4 lakh a year, you already meet the two conditions most applicants fail on. Do not wait for a reminder. The portal will not stay open past October 15.

Keep these documents ready tonight
Do not start the form without scanning these first. Incomplete applications get rejected without a second chance:
- Your recent passport-size photograph
- Admission proof from your college (admission letter or institution ID card)
- Previous semester or year marksheet, plus your Class 12 marksheet
- Fee receipts for tuition, hostel, books, or mess, along with the fee structure for the full academic year
- Proof of family income: ITR, salary slips, or an income certificate from a government authority
- Identity proof: Aadhaar card, PAN card, or driving licence
- Bank passbook details for the DBT payment
- Supporting document for transgender identity or physical disability, if that applies to you
The income certificate is where most students get stuck at the last minute. If you do not have one yet, visit your tehsil or local authority office today, not tomorrow.
Other scholarships closing this month
DXC is not the only option if you miss this one, but the calendar is tight. Most schemes on the National Scholarship Portal, including the NSP scholarship applications closing on October 31, give you only a few more weeks. If you are a woman student looking for more corporate scholarships, the Tata Capital Pankh Scholarship is worth checking too.
