Last Day Today: LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2026 Closes Tonight, Up to Rs 50,000 a Year

Today is the last day to apply for the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2026. The Life Insurance Corporation of India has invited applications for its scholarship scheme for students from economically weaker sections, and the online application window closes on September 30, 2026. If you have already taken admission to the first year of your course this academic year, this is one of the few major scholarships still open right now, and it can put up to Rs 50,000 a year in your bank account.

The scholarship is run by the LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation and is open to students who passed Class 10 or Class 12 and entered the first year of an eligible course in the 2026-27 academic year. Unlike many private scholarships with narrow course lists, it covers medicine, engineering, general graduation, integrated courses, diplomas, vocational courses, and ITI programmes. How much the scholarship pays, course by course

The money is not a one-time grant. It is paid every year for the full duration of the course, excluding internship or stipendiary periods, and it lands in the selected student’s bank account through NEFT in two instalments.

• Medicine (MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BDS): Rs 50,000 a year, paid in two instalments of Rs 25,000 each.
• Engineering (BE, BTech, BArch): Rs 40,000 a year, paid in two instalments of Rs 20,000 each.
• Graduation in any discipline, integrated courses, diploma, vocational courses, and ITI courses: Rs 20,000 a year, paid in two instalments of Rs 10,000 each.
• Special Scholarship after Class 10 (Class 11/10+2, vocational, diploma, ITI): Rs 15,000 a year, paid in two instalments of Rs 7,500 each.

Who can apply: the three conditions

There are three things the Foundation checks. All three must be true.

1. Marks. For the General Scholarship, you must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination (or diploma) with at least 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA in the academic years 2023-24, 2024-25, or 2025-26. For the Special Scholarship, the same 60% rule applies to Class 10.

2. Fresh admission in 2026-27. You must have taken admission to the first year of an eligible course during the 2026-27 academic year. General Scholarship applicants should be in the first year of medicine, engineering, graduation, integrated, diploma, vocational, or ITI courses. Special Scholarship applicants should be in the first year of Intermediate/10+2, vocational, or diploma courses.

3. Income. The annual income of your parents or guardian from all sources must not exceed Rs 4.5 lakh.

Applications are routed to one of 112 LIC divisional offices based on your PIN code, and selection happens on academic merit, followed by verification of marks, income, and admission documents.

How to apply before tonight

Applications are online only. Here is the process, step by step.

1. Go to the official application portal linked from licindia.in or through the Buddy4Study scholarship listing for the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2026.
2. Register with your name, date of birth, email, and mobile number.
3. Choose the right category: General Scholarship if you are in the first year after Class 12, Special Scholarship if you are in Class 11 or a diploma after Class 10.
4. Upload your marksheet, income certificate, admission proof, Aadhaar, bank passbook or account details, and a recent photo.
5. Submit and note down your application reference number.

Do not leave this for the evening. Scholarship portals slow down badly on the last day, and a session timeout on an unfinished form is the most common reason students miss deadlines like this one.

What to double check before you submit

A few small mistakes disqualify applications every year. Check your documents against this list before you press submit.

• The name on your marksheet, Aadhaar, and bank account must match. Even a spelling difference can hold up the NEFT payment.
• Your income certificate must show total family income from all sources, and it must be at or below Rs 4.5 lakh.
• The bank account must be active and in your own name, since the money is paid directly through NEFT.
• Keep a scanned copy of everything you upload. If the LIC division office calls you for verification, you will need the same files.
